ABOUT THE RUN

The 31st Annual 5K Run for Clean Air and Earth Day Celebration took place on April 21st, 2012 at 9:00am. The course started at the Philadelphia Art Museum and ran along Martin Luther King Drive. Back at the finish line, host organization, Clean Air Council, invited runners and onlookers to enjoy expositions, entertainment, food and fun provided by eco-friendly partners and sponsors.

The 5K Run for Clean Air is a community effort to decrease the air pollution that triggers asthma and other respiratory problems in our families, as well as support programs that reduce waste in favor of increased recycling and composting and slow down global warming. Runners were awarded substantial cash prizes for top finishing times and the pride in helping protect the environment. Guests of the event enjoyed ice cream, coffee, kids crafts, a cheer sign making station and live music from Children's Musician Meg Russell.

ABOUT THE WALK

Families competed in creative award categories for team spirit, costuming and fundraising. Also, Platinum Sponsor SCA Americas provided free registration to all participants ages 60 and over.
